Once again we’ve had a fabulous holiday thanks to Peter, Sally and “La Goupillère”. 3 weeks of peace, quiet and more exploration in addition to friendly meet-ups with friends over drinks, etc, all the time making us feeling more welcome (if that’s possible). We can’t wait to be back HOME again next year.
Can’t believe it’s been 3 years since we left here, unfortunately Covid meant we were unable to come as planned in 2020. Delighted to day nothing has changed – the house is still as fabulous as ever and Peter and Sally are just like bottles of excellent wine and get better and better! Such good friends it’s been so lovely to see you sand catch up, lovely to meet new friends and look forward to our next visit.
La Goupillere is a lovely, spacious, comfortable gite in a peaceful part of France, largely off the beaten track for most tourists. Equipped to a very high standard, it had everything we possibly needed for a wonderful, relaxing 2 week holiday and served as a perfect base for visiting numerous places of interest or just walking & discovering nature on the doorstep. Would highly recommend if you want to discover 'real' France and get a way from it all.

Thank you Peter and Sally for being such lovely hosts. We have had a very restful holiday. The accommodation is an excellent standard and you put on a lovely welcome for our family. Carys particularly liked being able to feed your ponies and see the great collection of feline beauties. The pool was lovely and warm in the sun and we enjoyed the comfy sun loungers. Great to be back after 18 months. This is our 5th visit and it's just as amazing as ever! Looking forward to our next visit in Oct 2020 - already booked!! Time has gone so quickly... don't want to go back home.
It was a wonderful three weeks and not only because we’ve been so lucky with the weather. We can only echo others’ comments about the comfort here, the thoughtful provision of every necessity (and luxury!) and the willingness of Peter and Sally to help whenever needed. We’ve seen deer, red squirrels, egrets and astonishingly red admirals and commas. But the greatest pleasure has been the quiet – and the dark. It’s a long time since we’ve been somewhere where you can see the Milky Way clearly.

We had a lovely week, a real "home from home". The farmhouse is very well equipped and has everything you will need during your stay. We were greeted by a very impressive welcome pack, which was a real treat. Even the dogs had treats! A most enjoyable break in a lovely location and a lovely farmhouse. Thanks to Peter and Sally who have clearly put a lot of thought into their guests' needs.
Our second trip and another great holiday. This time my parents stayed and the six of us had a wonderful time. The kids loved the addition of the pool which was very welcome on the hot days. Thank you Peter and Sally for your hospitality.

Sadly our week has come to an end so we must pack our bags and head back to Blighty. Many thanks for the loan of your gite and for being such wonderful and generous hosts. We came wanting a relaxing break and the week has flown by in such a peaceful setting that we're just about ready to take on the world again. Thanks once again for a very enjoyable Thursday evening - it was a pleasure sharing our wedding anniversary with you! You have a fabulous home in an idyllic setting with lots of wine and plenty of cats. Nirvana!
We have had a great week in not a "gite" but a lovely renovated, comfortable house, with all facilities and large gardens. Ideal for a quiet start and finish off a day after sightseeing or just relaxing. You are great hosts, from meeting on arrival, seeing you at the local annual fete on the Sunday in Ize and occasionally on passing through the week. We would without question stay here again when visiting this area and look forward to seeing you in the future.
Our second stay at this wonderful gîte – really is “home from home”, even better than we remembered. Thanks to Peter and Sally for their generous hospitality we discovered many more places to visit locally and revisited some we’d enjoyed last year, e.g. Ste Suzanne. Very relaxing quiet holiday. Hope to come again – weather was excellent for the whole week, hot and sunny. Just perfect to unwind. Many, many thanks we were so comfy.
